Serangan Kerensky (bahasa Rusia: Наступление Керенского), juga dijuluki Serangan Juli (bahasa Rusia: Июльское наступление), adalah serangan Rusia terakhir selama Perang Dunia I yang berlangsung pada Juli 1917. Rusia dibantu oleh sekutunya, Kerajaan Rumania.
Serangan ini diperintahkan oleh Alexander Kerensky, Menteri Perang Pemerintahan Sementara Rusia, dan serangan ini dipimpin oleh Jenderal Brusilov. Keputusan ini diambil pada saat yang tidak tepat, karena rakyat menginginkan perdamaian setelah meletusnya Republik Februari. Angkatan darat sendiri juga ingin agar perang dihentikan, sementara kemampuan bertempur mereka semakin memburuk. Tingkat disiplin angkatan darat telah mencapai titik nadir setelah pengunduran diri Tsar Nicholas II dari Rusia. Perintah No. 1 Soviet Petrograd sangat melemahkan kekuatan para perwira karena memberikan mandat kepada "komite-komite tentara". Selain itu, terdapat banyak kelompok-kelompok revolusioner yang mendorong agenda bahwa Rusia telah kalah (termasuk kelompok Bolshevik yang relatif lebih ditoleransi oleh Kerensky bila dibandingkan dengan para pembangkang konservatif). Selain itu, pemberontakan sering terjadi di tubuh militer dan perwira sering kali menjadi korban pelecehan dan bahkan pembunuhan oleh para tentara. Ditambah lagi kebijakan pemerintah untuk melanjutkan perang dimaksudkan untuk memenuhi kewajiban Rusia kepada sekutu, sehingga para tentara tidak memiliki motivasi untuk bertempur.
Namun, Kerensky berharap agar kemenangan Rusia dapat mendorong dukungan dari rakyat dan mengembalikan moral pasukan, sehingga memperkuat posisi pemerintahan sementara yang masih lemah dan efektivitas "pasukan paling demokratik di dunia" (menurut Kerensky). Brusilov menganggap perang ini sebagai harapan terakhir karena ia merasa bahwa angkatan darat tidak lama lagi akan jatuh.
Serangan ini dimulai pada tanggal 1 Juli 1917 setelah pasukan Rusia menyerang pasukan Austria-Hungaria dan Jerman di Galicia. Operasi ini melibatkan Angkatan Darat ketujuh, kedelapan dan kesebelas Rusia. Pada awalnya Rusia cukup berhasil berkat pengeboman besar dan Austria tidak dapat melawan, tetapi pasukan Jerman jauh lebih sulit untuk dikalahkan. Akibat kekeraskepalaan Jerman, banyak korban jiwa yang jatuh di pihak Rusia saat mereka melancarkan serangan.
Korban jiwa di pihak Rusia terus bertambah, sehingga moral infantri semakin merosot. Banyak pasukan yang menolak mematuhi perintah. Serangan Rusia pada akhirnya gagal pada tanggal 16 Juli. Pada 19 Juli, Jerman dan Austria-Hungaria melancarkan serangan balasan dan tidak menghadapi perlawanan yang berarti, sehingga mereka dapat memasuki wilayah Ukraina dan bahkan menjangkau tepi Sungai Zbruch. Garis pertahanan Rusia dipatahkan pada 20 Juli, sehingga pada 23 Juli mereka mundur sejauh 240 kilometer (150 mi) (Vinny). "Satu-satunya hal yang membatasi pasukan Jerman adalah kurangnya logistik untuk menduduki lebih banyak wilayah".[1]
