Sentani adalah sebuah distrik sekaligus menjadi ibu kota kabupaten di Kabupaten Jayapura, Provinsi Papua, Indonesia. Distrik Sentani memiliki luas wilayah 98,00 km² dengan jumlah penduduk pada tahun 2022 sekitar 73.977 jiwa, dan kepadatan penduduk 327,26 jiwa/km².[2] Pusat pemerintahan atau kantor Distrik Sentani berada di Kampung Sentani Kota.

Hingga tahun 2020, distrik Sentani memiliki 10 kampung, 60 RW, 217 RT. Dari seluruh Kampung tersebut Kelurahan Sentani Kota memiliki RT dan RW terbanyak yaitu 12 RW dan 53 RT. Distrik Sentani memiliki Personil Keamanan yang berjumlah 10 orang Babinsa. Jumlah perangkat kampung pada tahun 2020 di Distrik Sentani adalah 10 orang Kepala Kampung, 10 orang Sekretaris Kampung (Sekam) dan 4 orang Kaur di tiap Kampung dengan total keseluruhan sebanyak 40 kaur yaitu Kaur Pemerintahan, Kaur Pembangunan, Kaur Keuangan dan Kaur Umum.[3]

Demografi

Berdasarkan data Kementerian Dalam Negeri tahun 2020 mencatat adanya keberagaman warga distrik Sentani berdasarkan agama yang dianut. Adapun persentasi agama yang dianut di distrik Sentani yakni pemeluk agama Kekristenan sebanyak 64,21% dimana mayoritas Protestan 58,16% dan sebagian lagi Katolik 6,05%. Kemudian pemeluk agama Islam sebanyak 35,44% dan sebagian kecil memeluk agama Buddha 0,18% dan Hindu 0,017%.[1][4] Sementara sarana rumah ibadah, terdapat 66 buah gereja Protestan, kemudian 22 gedung Masjid, 3 gedung gereja Katolik dan 1 gedung Pura.[3]
