Orbit satelit quasi.

Satelit quasi merupakan objek tata surya (seperti asteroid) yang memiliki resonansi orbit 1 : 1 dengan sebuah planet.[1]

Satelit quasi saat mengelilingi Matahari membutuhkan waktu yang persis sama dengan planet, tetapi memiliki eksentrisitas yang berbeda (biasanya lebih besar), seperti yang ditunjukkan pada gambar di sebelah kanan.

Contoh

Venus

Venus memiliki 1 satelit quasi yang telah dikonfirmasi yaitu bernama (524522) 2002 VE68. Asteroid ini juga merupakan asteroid yang melintasi Merkurius dan Bumi; tampaknya asteroid ini telah menjadi "pendamping" Venus selama 7000 tahun terakhir atau lebih, dan diperkirakan akan terlontar keluar dari orbitnya sekitar 500 tahun dari sekarang.[2]

Bumi

Pada 2016, Bumi memiliki satelit quasi yang telah dikonfirmasi yaitu, (164207) 2004 GU9,[3] (277810) 2006 FV35,[4] 2013 LX28,[5] 2014 OL339,[6] dan (469219) 2016 HO3.[7][8]

Neptunus

(309239) 2007 RW10 adalah satelit quasi sementara dari Neptunus.[9] Objek tersebut telah menjadi satelit quasi Neptunus selama sekitar 12.500 tahun dan akan tetap dalam keadaan dinamis itu selama 12.500 tahun lagi ke depan.[9]
