Saloi

Saloi merupakan tas keranjang tradisional yang berasal dari Pulau Halmahera, Maluku Utara.[1] Tas ini berbentuk keranjang yang dapat digendong di punggung yang biasanya digunakan oleh perempuan untuk membawa beraneka ragam kebutuhan dan hasil bumi. Saloi terbuat dari kayu atau anyaman bambu atau rotan yang desainnya mengecil di bagian bawah, dengan penampang atas berbentuk bulat dan penampang bawah persegi panjang. Suku Togutil menggunakan saloi yang bahannya dari kayu, sedangkan Suku Taboru menggunakan saloi dari anyaman rotan.[2] Bagian belakangnya dipasang tali sehingga bisa digendong seperti ransel. Ukurannya dapat dibuat beraneka ragam tergantung pengguna. Anak-anak menggunakan saloi dengan ukuran lebih kecil.[1][2]

Saloi juga menjadi wisata karya berupa kerajinan tangan dari anyaman dan menjadi salah satu pendapatan masyarakat di bidang ekonomi kreatif. Para wisatawan pun dapat membawanya pulang sebagai cendera mata.[1]
