Ir. H. Said Iqbal, S.T., M.E. (lahir 5 Juli 1968) adalah seorang tokoh pergerakan kaum buruh dan politikus asal Indonesia yang menjabat sebagai Presiden Partai Buruh sejak partai politik tersebut dibentuk kembali pada 5 Oktober 2021. Selain itu, ia juga menjabat sebagai Presiden Konfederasi Serikat Pekerja Indonesia (KSPI). Ia menempuh pendidikan di SMA Negeri 51 Jakarta (1987 tamat sebagai juara umum), Politeknik (Teknik Mesin) Universitas Indonesia, Sarjana (S1) Teknik Mesin Universitas Jayabaya, dan Master Ekonomi (S2) Universitas Indonesia.^[1]

Pada 1992, Said Iqbal diangkat menjadi ketua umum serikat pekerja di perusahaan elektronik di Bekasi. Dia juga termasuk anggota tim perumus Undang-Undang Nomor 13 Tahun 2003 tentang Ketenagakerjaan dan Undang-Undang Nomor 2 Tahun 2004 tentang Pengaduan Perburuhan.^[2]

Riwayat Pendidikan^[3]

Ia menghabiskan masa kecilnya di Jakarta. Meski lahir di Jakarta, keluarganya berasal dari Aceh. Ayahnya berasal dari Bambi, Pidie dan ibunya berasal dari Meulaboh, Aceh Barat.

Ia menempuh pendidikan di SMA Negeri 51 Jakarta dan lulus pada tahun 1987. Selama bersekolah, Said dikenal sebagai anak yang berprestasi dan kerap menyandang predikat juara kelas, bahkan di akhir pendidikannya, ia menjadi juara umum di sekolahnya.

Said lantas melanjutkan pendidikannya ke Politeknik (Teknik Mesin) di Universitas Indonesia, kemudian mengambil pendidikan S1 di Teknik Mesin Universitas Jayabaya. Setelah lulus, ia melanjutkan pendidikan pascasarjananya di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Indonesia.^[4]

Perjalanan Menjadi Aktivis^[5]

Said Iqbal pertama kali turun sebagai aktivis buruh di Serikat Pekerja tempatnya bekerja di Perusahaan Elektronika di Kabupaten Bekasi pada tahun 1992 hingga saat ini. Kemudian pasca reformasi dan pemerintah membebaskan pendirian serikat pekerja tanpa harus berafiliasi kepada Serikat Pekerja Seluruh Indonesia (SPSI), Said Iqbal bersama tokoh buruh lainnya mendirikan Federasi Serikat Pekerja Metal Indonesia (FSPMI).

Pada tahun 2013 lalu, Said Iqbal meraih penghargaan internasional sebagai Tokoh Buruh Terbaik Dunia, The Febe Elisabeth Velasquez Award oleh serikat pekerja Belanda, FNV. Penghargaan ini diberikan bagi mereka, para aktivis buruh yang berjuang demi tegaknya hak-hak buruh di negara masing-masing.

Dalam pemilihan itu, Said Iqbal menyisihkan 200 kandidat lainnya dari seluruh dunia berkat militansinya mengawal demokrasi dan kebebasan berserikat melalui FSPMI dan KSPI.
