Sahur on the Road

Sahur on the Road atau SOTR adalah kegiatan membagikan hidangan sahur pada orang membutuhkan dengan berkendara bersama-sama mengunjungi beberapa lokasi tujuan. SOTR umum dilakukan komunitas, teman-teman sekolah, hingga rekan-rekan universitas satu angkatan. Biasanya mereka melakukanya dengan beramai-ramai, berkonvoi menggunakan kendaraan roda dua hingga empat.

Konsep awal kegiatan SOTR sebetulnya dengan berkonvoi bersama membagi-bagikan makanan kepada orang-orang membutuhkan di panti asuhan dan di tempat lainnya.

Namun, kebiasaan tersebut pudar dan bergeser menjadi hanya kebiasaan sahur bersama teman-teman dengan berkonvoi ria bersama menuju satu destinasi tempat di tengah kota atau titik lainnya.

Biasanya peserta SOTR dapat mencapai ratusan orang. Saking banyaknya peserta SOTR dalam satu kelompok, tak jarang malah membuat kemacetan dan kepadatan di jalan raya.

Banyaknya jumlah peserta SOTR tak jarang juga memicu keributan hingga kericuhan antarkelompok akibat saring berebut jalan, tempat, hingga aksi saling merasa menjadi jagoan di jalan. Kegiatan SOTR awalnya memiliki tujuan positif kerap malah berakhir dengan perselisihan antarkelompok.

Tak sedikit pula peserta SOTR sudah menyiapkan kelompok dengan sejumlah senjata tajam dan lainnya untuk membekali diri bila terjadi kericuhan di jalan dengan kelompok lainnya. Akibatnya SOTR malah menimbulkan korban luka bahkan korban jiwa.[1]
