Sekolah Dasar Negeri Menteng 01 atau dikenal sebagai SDN Besuki merupakan sebuah sekolah dasar negeri yang berlokasi di kawasan Menteng, Jakarta Pusat.

Sejarah

Sekolah ini didirikan pada tahun 1934 oleh Carpentier Alting Stichting Nassau School (CAS)[1] dari Pemerintahan Kolonial Belanda dan hanya disediakan untuk anak-anak Belanda dan bangsawan Indonesia. Pemerintah Indonesia mengambil alih administrasi sekolah pada tahun 1962, dan kemudian dijalankan oleh Yayasan Raden Saleh.

Banyak di antara bekas siswa asal sekolah ini seperti Bambang Trihatmodjo, putra Soeharto, juga merupakan cucu dari Hamzah Haz dan Try Sutrisno. Presiden Amerika Serikat Barack Obama juga pernah menghabiskan empat tahun untuk sekolah disana.[2]

Saat Obama mengumumkan pencalonannya sebagai presiden Amerika Serikat pada bulan Januari 2007, seluruh dunia menarik perhatian media ke sekolah dengan banyak wartawan media asing ke sekolah, termasuk Chicago Tribune,[3][4] MSNBC,[5] bahkan BBC.[6]
