Rivai Marlaut (12 Oktober 1912 – 20 April 1994) adalah seorang wartawan, dan sastrawan Indonesia. Ia pernah memimpin Harian Haluan Padang sebagai pemimpin redaksi pada tahun 1970-an. Sebagai sastrawan, Rivai telah menulis beberapa novel, cerita bersambung (cerbung) dan lain-lain.[1][2]

Sejak 1947, Rivai berkarier sebagai wartawan lepas pada berbagai media massa lainnya, yaitu Antara, Merdeka, Harian Rakyat, Patriot, Suara Merdeka, dan lain-lain.[1]
