Retrophyllum comptonii adalah spesies konifer dalam keluarga Podocarpaceae. Tumbuhan ini merupakan pohon endemik di Kaledonia Baru.[2]
Tumbuhan ini asli dari Grande Terre, pulau utama Kaledonia Baru, dengan sebaran dari Port Boise di ujung selatan hingga Mont Ignambi di pesisir timur laut. Tumbuhan ini tumbuh di hutan hujan pegunungan dan semak belukar (maquis), baik pada substrat ultramafik maupun sekis, pada ketinggian 700 hingga 1.450 meter, dan terkadang di ketinggian serendah 200 meter.[1]
