Rektor Universitas Sam Ratulangi merupakan pimpinan tertinggi dalam Universitas Samratulangi. Sejak dikeluarkannya Keputusan Menteri PTIP Nomor 22/1961, tanggal 4 Juli 1961 dengan Nama UNISUT (Universitas Sulawesi Utara dan Tengah), Dalam periode 1961-1965, UNISUT diubah lagi singkatannya menjadi UNSULUTTENG yang juga merupakan singkatan dari Universitas Sulawesi Utara dan Tengah.
Berdasarkan Surat Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia Nomor 277 tertanggal 14 September 1965, ditetapkan pengesahan universitas negeri di Kota Manado ini, sekaligus dengan namanya dari Universitas Sulawesi Utara dan Tengah menjadi Universitas Sam Ratulangi, disingkat UNSRAT. Universitas Sam Ratulangi pernah dipimpin oleh sejumlah Rektor yaitu:[1][2]
