Sinopsis

Dibesarkan di sebuah perkebunan di Florida Utara, Ray Charles (Jamie Foxx) menjadi tuna netra pada usia tujuh tahun tak lama setelah melihat adiknya tenggelam. Terinspirasi oleh seorang ibunya yang keras, independen dan bersikeras bahwa Ray dapat membuat jalannya sendiri di dunia, Ray menemukan panggilannya dan hadiahnya di balik sebuah piano. Turnya yang melintasi beberapa kota membuat penyanyi soul memiliki reputasi sebelum meledak ke panggung dunia saat ia memelopori penggabungan irama dan blues, rock and roll, gospel, country, jazz dan orkestra ke dalam gaya musiknya yang tak ada tandingannya.
