Pengisi (linguistik)

Dalam ilmu linguistik, pengisi (filler) adalah suatu bunyi atau kata yang diucapkan untuk menjeda percakapan.[1] Perlu diperhatikan bahwa pengisi berbeda dengan panggilan abstrak (placeholder name) seperti si anu, si fulan, dan si itu yang merujuk kepada objek atau orang yang namanya tidak diketahui, tidak relevan, atau ditutup-tutupi.

Terdapat berbagai macam bunyi yang dapat menjadi pengisi tergantung pada bahasan yang berlaku. Contohnya, dalam bahasa Inggris yang sering dipakai adalah "um", "er", atau "ah",[1] sementara dalam bahasa Indonesia, terdapat kata "anu", "ah", "itu", dan sebagainya.
