Penelitian pendidikan

Penelitian Pendidikan adalah penelitian yang dilakukan dalam bidang pendidikan yang menggunakan teori-teori dari berbagai disiplin ilmu sehingga sehingga di dalamnya memuat berbagai teori, konsep, prinsip, dan metodologi penelitian. Tujuan dari penelitian ilmiah adalah untuk menemukan, merevisi, atau menguji teori-teori ilmiah agar teori-teori itu menjadi lebih andal. Tetapi penelitian ilmiah ini tidak hanya dilakukan untuk cabang-cabang ilmu pengetahuan alamiah (natural sciences) namun berlaku untuk semua ilmu lain termasuklah ilmu pendidikan. Menurut Ali (1993), maksud dari penelitian ilmiah di bidang pendidikan adalah untuk:

  1. menemukan fakta baru terkait dengan pendidikan,
  2. memverifikasi dan menguji fakta-fakta lama terkait dengan pendidikan,
  3. menganalisis urutan dan saling-hubungan (interrelasi) antara berbagai fakta dalam rangka,
  4. menemukan penjelasan tentang hubungan kausal, dan
  5. mengembangkan alat-alat, konsep-konsep, dan teori-teori yang bisa memberi kemungkinan dilakukannya pengkajian terhadap prilaku manusia dalam konteks kependidikan [1]
