Pembiakan di penangkaran (bahasa Inggris: captive breeding) adalah proses pemeliharaan dan pembiakan tumbuhan atau hewan di lingkungan yang terkendali, seperti suaka margasatwa, kebun binatang, kebun botani, dan fasilitas konservasi lainnya. Cara ini terkadang digunakan untuk membantu spesies yang terancam punah akibat dampak aktivitas manusia seperti perubahan iklim, hilang atau terfragmentasinya habitat, perburuan atau penangkapan yang berlebihan, pencemaran lingkungan, predasi, penyakit, dan parasitisme.[1]

Bagi banyak spesies, hanya sedikit hal yang diketahui tentang kondisi yang diperlukan agar pengembangbiakan spesies tersebut berhasil. Informasi tentang biologi reproduksi suatu spesies mungkin penting bagi keberhasilan program penangkaran.[2][3][4] Dalam beberapa kasus, program penangkaran dapat menyelamatkan suatu spesies dari kepunahan.[5] Namun agar berhasil, penangkar harus mempertimbangkan banyak faktor, termasuk masalah genetik, ekologi, perilaku, dan etika. Sebagian besar upaya pembiakan yang berhasil melibatkan kerja sama dan koordinasi banyak lembaga. Penangkaran juga dapat mendukung pendidikan tentang konservasi karena spesies di penangkaran lebih dekat dengan publik dibandingkan spesies sejenisnya di alam liar. Keberhasilan pembiakan yang berkelanjutan dari generasi ke generasi di penangkaran juga dibantu oleh upaya penelitian ekstensif secara ex-situ dan in-situ.[6]
