Panasonic Gobel Awards 2016 adalah acara penganugerahan Panasonic Gobel Awards ke—19 yang merupakan ajang apresiasi bergengsi bagi insan pertelevisian Indonesia yang diselenggarakan pada malam tanggal 14 Oktober 2016 di XXI Djakarta Theater, Jakarta. Acara Panasonic Gobel Awards edisi ini bertema "Kebanggaan Indonesia".[1] Acara ini diundur sampai bulan Oktober, karena bertabrakan dengan Hari Raya Idul Fitri 1437 Hijriah, Kejuaraan Eropa UEFA 2016 dan Olimpiade Musim Panas 2016.

Panasonic Gobel Awards yang ke—19 tahun ini mengurangi 5 kategori, sehingga jumlah kategori PGA tahun ini mencapai angka 22 dari jumlah kategori sebelumnya yakni 27.[1] Malam puncak Panasonic Gobel Awards tahun ini disiarkan secara langsung oleh RCTI, MNCTV dan MNC Channels (MNC Entertainment) tanggal 14 Oktober 2016 jam 21:00 WIB dan disiarkan ulang pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2016 oleh Global TV.

Sistem pemilihan

Sistem pemilihan dimulai dengan penentuan nominasi per tiap-tiap kategori oleh sejumlah tim verifikasi dari insan televisi Indonesia yang terdiri dari 9 perwakilan industri pertelevisian, seperti beberapa stasiun televisi, production house, Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia, artis/aktor dan lainnya. Penentuan didasarkan atas peringkat (rating) acara yang tertinggi dan penentuan melalui jajak pendapat via telepon (phone interview). Sementara untuk program televisi dinilai berdasarkan tayangan sejak tanggal 1 Januari 2015 hingga 30 Juni 2016.

Panasonic Gobel telah membuka poling ke publik untuk 22 kategori pada 1 September 2016 hingga 7 Oktober 2016, yang kemudian hasilnya akan disortir oleh BDO, tabulator untuk PGA ke-19, untuk mendapatkan data poling yang valid, yaitu 1 ID untuk 1 vote. Poling dapat dilakukan melalui 2 medium: SMS (99386) dan media sosial Twitter.

Kategori dan nominasi

Sebanyak 23 kategori, yang terdiri dari 15 kategori program dan 8 kategori individu, akan dianugerahkan pada penghargaan kali ini. Pemenang ditulis pertama dan ditebalkan..[2][3]
