Jajaran bangsa Luwia

Bangsa Luwia adalah sekelompok orang berbahasa Indo-Eropa yang tinggal di Asia Kecil dan Barat Levant di Zaman Perunggu dan Zaman Besi. Mereka berbicara bahasa Luwia, sebuah bahasa Indo-Eropa dari sub-keluarga Anatolia, yang ditulis dengan kuneiform yang diimpor dari Mesopotamia, dan naskah asli Hieroglif yang unik, yang kadang-kadang digunakan oleh orang-orang Het yang terkait secara bahasa linguistik juga.

Peran bangsa Luwia dalam sejarah Zaman Perunggu masih diperdebatkan.[1]

Sejarah

Asal

Asal usul orang Luwia hanya dapat diasumsikan. Berbagai saran ada, bahkan sampai hari ini, yang terkait dengan perdebatan mengenai tanah air asli para pembiacara Indo-Eropa. Sarannya meliputi Balkan, Volga Hilir dan Asia Tengah. Namun, sedikit yang bisa dibuktikan tentang rute yang dipimpin nenek moyang orang Luwia ke Anatolia. Juga tidak jelas apakah pemisahan orang Luwia dari orang Het dan Pala terjadi di Anatolia atau sebelumnya.

Ada kemungkinzn bahwa budaya Demircihüyük (skt. 3500-2500 SM) terhubung dengan kedatangan orang Indo-Eropa di Anatolia, karena Proto-Anatolia harus berpisah sekitar 3000 SM paling lambat dengan alasan linguistik.[2]
