OTP Geothermal adalah perusahaan gabungan dari Origin Energy, Australia dan Tata Power, India.[1]

PT SMGP

Latar belakang

PT SMGP (PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power) adalah anak Perusahaan dari OTP Geothermal,[2] Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas Bumi di Sibanggor Julu, Roburan Lombang dan Sirambas, Mandailing Natal, Sumatera Utara. Perusahaan ini adalah perusahaan Konsorsium dari Origin Energy 47,5 %, Tata Power 47,5 % dan PT Supraco Indonesia 5%. Perusahaan ini berdiri sejak tahun 2010.[3].Diperkirakan akan menghasilkan energi listrik sebesar 240 MW[4] .Nilai Investasi yang di kucurkan untuk proyek ini sebesar $ 850 juta, Nilai investasi dari Tata Power $ 125 juta.[5]

Kontroversi

Eksplorasi Perusahaan tambang ini banyak ditentang oleh masyarakat sekitar proyek.[6]

Akuisisi

Pada tahun 2016, Saham PT SMGP di akuisisi oleh KS ORKA (KS ORKA Renewables pe ltd). KS ORKA merupakan perusahaan konsorsium antara Hugar Orka ehf dari Islandia dan Zhijiang Kaizan Compressor Co ltd.[7]
