Neokolonialisme adalah praktik Kapitalisme, Globalisasi, dan pasukan kultural imperialisme untuk mengontrol sebuah negara (biasanya bekas jajahan Eropa di Afrika atau Asia) sebagai pengganti dari kontrol politik atau militer secara langsung. Kontrol tersebut bisa berupa ekonomi, budaya, atau linguistik; dengan mempromosikan budaya, bahasa atau media di daerah jajahan mereka, korporasi tertanam di budaya dapat membuat kemajuan yang lebih besar dalam membuka pasar di negara itu. Dengan demikian, neokolonialisme akan menjadi hasil akhir relatif dari ketertarikan kepada bisnis yang jinak memimpin untuk merusak efek kultural. [butuh rujukan]
