Nathalie Sarraute (bahasa Prancis: [natali saʁot], 18 Juli 1900 - 19 Oktober 1999) adalah seorang pengacara dan penulis berkebangsaan Prancis.[1]

Sarraute lahir dengan nama asli Natalia Ilinichna Tcherniak (bahasa Rusia Наталья Ильинична Черняк, Natalya Chernyak) pada tahun 1900 di Ivanovo (sekarang wilayah ini dikenal dengan nama Ivanovo-Voznesensk), 300 km utara dari Moskow (beberapa sumber menjelaskan Ia lahir pada tahun 1902.[2] Dia adalah putri dari Pauline (née Chatounovsky), seorang penulis, dan Ilya Tcherniak, seorang ahli kimia.[2] Dia adalah seorang Yahudi asal Rusia.[2] Setelah perceraian orang tuanya, dia menghabiskan masa kecilnya dengan berpulang pergi antara Prancis dan Rusia.[1] Pada tahun 1909 ia pindah ke Paris bersama ayahnya.[3] Sarraute belajar hukum dan sastra di Sorbonne, hal yang paling digemarinya adalah sastra kontemporer serta karya-karya Marcel Proust dan Virginia Woolf, yang sangat mempengaruhi konsep novelya.[3] Kemudian, Ia belajar sejarah di Oxford dan sosiologi di Berlin(1926-1941) dan menjadi seorang pengacara.[3]
