Michael Rooney Gomar, S.STP., M.Si. (lahir 03 Mei 1980) adalah seorang birokrat Indonesia lulusan Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri tahun 2002, yang sejak 27 Mei 2022 dipercayakan menjadi Penjabat Bupati Kabupaten Mappi, Papua Selatan. [1]
Karir Gomar di Pemerintahan Kabupaten Mimika sudah tidak diragukan lagi. Sejak lulus kuliah, dengan SK Menteri Dalam Negeri, Gomar ditugaskan di Pemerintah Kabupaten Mimika.
Awal bertugas di tahun 2002, Gomar menjabat sebagai staf PNS Kantor Kecamatan Mimika Baru. Tahun 2003, Gomar dipercaya menduduki jabatan Kasubid Pemerintahan Bappeda, hingga tahun 2009 memegang jabatan Kasubag Pembukuan dan Akuntansi Bagian Keuangan Setda Mimika. Tahun 2011, Gomar kembali menduduki jabatan di Bappeda sebagai Kabid Sosbud. Kemudian di tahun 2013, dipercaya sebagai Kepala Distrik Tembagapura. Setahun kemudian, tepatnya 13 Juni 2014 Gomar dipercaya untuk menjabat Kepala Distrik Amar, dan tahun 2015 kembali menjabat Kepala Distrik Mimika Timur. Setelah menjabat Kepala Distrik Mimika Timur, Gomar kemudian dilantik dengan jabatan Kepala Badan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat pada 20 April 2016. Selanjutnya, Kepala Dinas Pemberdayaan Masyarakat dan Kampung tahun 2018, dan Kepala Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan di tahun 2020. Gomar kemudian dilantik sebagai Sekda Mimika, tepatnya 3 Maret 2021 oleh Bupati Mimika Eltinus Omaleng, hingga akhirnya pada Jumat 27 Mei 2022 Mendagri Tito Karnavian melantik Gomar sebagai Penjabat Bupati Mappi.[2]
