Mastacembelus adalah salah satu genus ikan dari Famili Mastacembelidae. Mastacembelus hidup di air tawar. Di alam liar genus ikan ini hidup menyebar di Sungai tigris dan Sungai eufrat. Mastacembelus dapat tumbuh hingga berukuran 46,4 sentimeter.[4]
Menurut FishBase, sampai saat ini terdapat sebanyak 61 spesies ikan yang telah diketahui dari genus ini[5]. 4 spesies tambahan (ditandai dengan bintang (*) dalam daftar) dikenali oleh Catalog of Fishes.[6]
