Masjid Jum'at (bahasa Arab: مسجد الجمعة Masjid Al-Jum'ah), Masjid Bani Salim, Masjid Al-Wadi, Masjid Al-Ghubaib, atau Masjid 'Atikah adalah sebuah masjid di Madinah, Arab Saudi, yang berdiri di tempat yang dipercayai sebagai lokasi nabi Muhammad bersama para pengikutnya dalam perjalanan Hijrah dari Mekkah ke Madinah melaksanakan salat Jumat untuk pertama kalinya.[1]

Letak

Masjid Jum'at terletak di barat daya Madinah, di dekat Wadi Ranuna', dengan jarak 900 meter utara Masjid Quba' dan 6 kilometer dari Masjid Nabawi.

Sejarah

Dalam perjalanan hijrah dari Mekkah ke Madinah, Pada hari Senin, 12 Rabiul Awwal Tahun 1 Hijriah, Nabi Muhammad saw. bersama para muhajirin singgah di Quba' selama 4 hari. Di pagi hari pada hari Jum'atnya, mereka melanjutkan perjalanannya ke Madinah, dan berhenti di wilayah Wadi Ranuna' dan menunaikan salat jum'at disana. Dan wilayah tersebut sekarang dinamakan Jum'ah.[2]

Sejarah Pembangunan Masjid

  • Pertama kali dibangun dari batu dan hancur beberapa kali dan direnovasi.
  • Umar bin Abdul Aziz melaksanakan renovasi kedua.
  • Renovasi pada masa Kekhalifahan Abbasiyah antara tahun 155 - 159 Hijriah.
  • Akhir abad ke-9 Hijriah, direnovasi oleh Syamsuddin Qawan.
  • Renovasi pada masa Kesultanan Utsmaniyah dipimpin oleh Sultan Bayazid.
  • Renovasi oleh Sayyid Hasan Asy-Syarbatli pada pertengahan abad ke-14 Hijriah.
  • Masjid Jum'at sebelum renovasi terakhir memiliki panjang 8 meter, lebar 4,5 meter, tinggi 5,5 meter dan 1 kubah yang terbuat dari bata merah, serta di sebelah timurnya terdapat halaman dengan panjang 8 meter dan lebar 6 meter.
  • Renovasi pada tahun 1409 Hijriah oleh Kementerian Wakaf Arab Saudi, atas perintah Pelayan Dua Tanah Suci Raja Fahd bin Abdul Aziz dengan menghancurkan bangunan lama, dan membuat bangunan baru, termasuk tempat tinggal untuk Imam, Muadzin, Perpustakaan, Madrasah Tahfidz al-Qur'an, Tempat salat untuk perempuan dan kamar mandi.[2]
  • Pada tahun 1412 Hijriah, Masjid Jum'at dibuka untuk umum dengan kapasitas 650 jamaah, memiliki 1 kubah utama dan 4 kubah kecil.[2]
