Marcopolo S.A. (BM&F Bovespa: POMO3, POMO4) adalah sebuah produsen bus asal Brazil yang didirikan pada tanggal 6 Agustus 1949 di Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul. Perusahaan ini memproduksi bodi untuk berbagai macam bus, seperti bus kecil, bus antar kota, dan bus wisata. Marcopolo menyumbang sekitar 50% dari total produksi bodi bus Brazil, dan mengekspor busnya ke lebih dari 60 negara.

Saat ini Marcopolo memiliki empat pabrik di Brazil dan masing-masing satu di Argentina, Australia, Kolombia, India, Meksiko, dan Afrika Selatan, selain teknologi yang akan ditransfer ke Tiongkok. Pada tahun 2008, Marcopolo mengumumkan sebuah joint venture dengan Tata Motors untuk dapat masuk ke India.[1] Marcopolo menutup pabriknya di Portugal pada bulan September 2009 karena resesi ekonomi.

Sejarah

Marcopolo ddidirikan dengan nama Nicola & Cia Ltd, yang kemudian memiliki 8 mitra dan 15 pegawai.[per kapan?][butuh rujukan] Produksinya saat itu masih dilakukan tanpa bantuan mesin.

Pada tahun 1953, Marcopolo mulai memproduksi struktur baja pertamanya.
