Mansyoer Mohammad Dunda

dr. Mansyoer Mohammad Dunda atau dr. M.M. Dunda (lahir di Gorontalo, pada tahun 1911) merupakan seorang dokter dan tokoh pergerakan kemerdekaan Indonesia di Gorontalo. Namanya mungkin tidak begitu terkenal seperti Sam Ratulangi, meskipun keduanya berasal dari latar belakang yang sama yaitu seorang dokter dan pejuang kemerdekaan di Sulawesi.

Dalam catatan sejarah, MM. Dunda bersama dengan dr. Aloei Saboe ikut membantu Nani Wartabone dalam merebut kemerdekaan dari tangan penjajah di Gorontalo.

Selain itu, dr. M.M. Dunda tercatat merupakan "dokter pertama" yang berasal dari etnis Gorontalo. Beliau merupakan seorang dokter angkatan pertama di Geneeskundige Hooge School (GHS), sebuah sekolah pendidikan tinggi kedokteran yang menjadi cikal bakal terbentuknya Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia.[1]

Perjuangan Pergerakan Kemerdekaan

dr. M.M. Dunda merupakan putra daerah Gorontalo pertama yang berhasil menempuh pendidikan kedokteran di GHS saat itu. Selain sebagai dokter, dr. M.M. Dunda pun tercatat sebagai salah satu tokoh pergerakan di daerah Gorontalo bersama dengan Nani Wartabone, hingga akhirnya berhasil memproklamasikan kemerdekaan Indonesia di Gorontalo pada tanggal 23 Januari 1942.

Saat ini, nama beliau telah diabadikan menjadi nama Rumah Sakit di Limboto, Kabupaten Gorontalo dengan nama Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. M.M. Dunda Limboto.[2]

Wafat

dr. M.M. Dunda wafat pada tanggal 1 Agustus 1970 di Jerman. Meskipun meninggal di Jerman, dr. M.M. Dunda tetap dimakamkan di Indonesia, tepatnya di Surabaya, Jawa Timur.
