Mandar-biru kepala-kelabu ( Porphyrio poliocephalus ) adalah spesies mandar biru yang hidup dari Timur Tengah dan anak benua India hingga Cina selatan dan Thailand utara. Dulunya dianggap sebagai subspesies dari mandar besar, tetapi ditingkatkan menjadi status spesies penuh pada tahun 2015; saat ini mandar besar dianggap sebagai superspesies dan masing-masing dari enam kelompok subspesiesnya ditetapkan sebagai spesies penuh.[1]

Jantan mempunyai tampilan pacaran yang rumit, memegang rumput air di paruhnya dan membungkuk kepada betina sambil tertawa kecil.[2]

Mandar-biru kepala-kelabu diperkenalkan ke Amerika Utara pada akhir tahun 1990-an karena pelarian burung di daerah Pembroke Pines, Florida . Ahli biologi satwa liar di negara bagian tersebut berupaya untuk memusnahkan burung-burung tersebut, namun burung-burung tersebut telah berkembang biak dan kini dapat ditemukan di banyak wilayah di Florida selatan. Otoritas ornitologi menganggap mandar ini mungkin akan menjadi bagian dari avifauna Florida.[3] Itu ditambahkan ke daftar periksa American Birding Association pada Februari 2013.[4]
