Dalam mitologi Yunani, Mainad (Yunani: μαινάδες) adalah wanita pengikut Dionisos dan anggota paling penting dalam Thiasos, rombongan Dionisos. Nama mereka bermakna "orang-orang yang menceracau". Seringkali para mainad digambarkan sedang dalam keadaan sangat gembira dan hiruk pikuk akibat mabuk dan tarian. Mereka bisa menjadi seperti itu karena terinspirasi oleh Dionisos.[1] Dalam keadaan seperti ini, mereka akan kehilangan kesadaran diri. Mereka mulai berteriak-teriak, membunuh dan mencincang hewan (dan kadang-kadang manusia), dan memakan daging mentah. Perilaku seksual mereka juga tidak terkontrol. Pada saat-saat seperti ini, para mainad biasanya memakai kulit rusa dan membawa thirsos, tongkat panjang yang diikat oleh daun-daunan; Mereka akan memakai rangkaian daun di kepala mereka dan kadang-kadang memegang ular.[2]
