Lokomotif C18 adalah salah satu jenis lokomotif uap yang pernah dioperasikan di Indonesia. Lokomotif ini dahulu dioperasikan oleh sebuah perusahaan kereta api Hindia Belanda bernama Solosche Tramweg Maatschappij (SoTM). Lokomotif yang dibuat oleh pabrik kereta api Jerman Hartmann ini mulai digunakan pada tanggal 1 Mei 1908. Hanya ada satu lokomotif jenis C18 yang pernah diproduksi. Karena SoTM bangkrut tidak lama setelah lokomotif ini dioperasikan, lokomotif ini pun diambil alih oleh Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NIS). Selama masa beroperasinya, lokomotif ini kebanyakan beroperasi di Jalur kereta api Purwosari-Boyolali untuk mengangkut penumpang serta barang.[1]

Setelah Indonesia merdeka pada tahun 1945, pemerintah membentuk perusahaan kereta api bernama Djawatan Kereta Api (DKA). Mulai tahun 1950, DKA memesan lokomotif diesel baru yang lebih canggih untuk mengganti lokomotif uap yang sudah usur. Peran lokomotif C18 sebagai penarik kereta api di Jalur kereta api Purwosari-Boyolali mulai terganti oleh lokomotif diesel seperti D300 dan D301.

Pada tahun 1970-an, saat populasi lokomotif uap di Indonesia semakin menyusut, Perusahaan Jawatan Kereta Api (PJKA) memutuskan untuk mengkonservasi berberapa lokomotif uap supaya tidak semua lokomotif uap punah.

Lokomotif C1801, lokomotif satu-satunya yang berjenis C18, dipindahkan ke Museum Kereta Api Ambarawa dan dijadikan sebagai pajangan statis. Hingga saat ini lokomotif ini masih berada disana.

Lokomotif C18 memiliki panjang 7940 mm, berat 26,2 ton dan dapat melaju hingga kecepatan 55 km/jam. Lokomotif ini menggunakan bahan bakar batubara atau kayu jati. Lokomotif uap C18 memiliki susunan roda 0-6-0T. 0-6-0T berarti mempunyai 3 roda penggerak. Pada tahun 1915, lokomotif C18 dikonservasi dan dilengkapi dengan teknologi superheater dan silinder dengan katup piston.
