Liontin adalah gantungan atau mata yang menghiasi dan memperindah tampilan sebuah kalung.[1] Liontin dapat berbentuk hati, segi enam, segi delapan, persegi, bulat, abstrak dan yang paling populer adalah berbentuk lonjong/oval. Umumnya liontin dirancang untuk menjuntai ke bawah, tetapi pada desain yang lebih kiwari, liontin juga dapat dirancang untuk tampil mendatar.[2]

Jenis

Liontin dapat terbagi menjadi beberapa jenis, di antaranya:

  • Medalion, liontin yang umumnya berbentuk bundar.
  • Liontin buka-tutup, liontin yang bisa dibuka dan ditutup kembali, biasanya diisi foto orang terkasih.
  • Jimat, liontin yang dipercaya dapat mendatangkan manfaat tertentu.
  • Fungsional, beberapa liontin bisa berupa hal berguna seperti kandar kilas, jam matahari, kompas, dll.
