Li Jinhui

Li Jinhui (Hanzi: 黎錦暉; Pinyin: Lí Jǐnhuī; 5 September 1891 – 15 Februari 1967 meskipun beberapa sumber menyatakan ia meninggal tahun 1968)[1] adalah seorang komposer dan penulis lagu Tiongkok yang lahir di Xiangtan, Hunan, Dinasti Qing.[2][3] Ia menciptakan bentuk musik baru dengan shidaiqu setelah jatuhnya Dinasti Qing—menjauh dari bentuk musik yang sudah mapan. Pemerintah Nasionalis berusaha melarang musik Li. Kritikus mencap musiknya sebagai "Musik Kuning", suatu bentuk pornografi, karena asosiasi seksualnya dan ia dicap sebagai "perusak" moral publik.[4] Jenis musik ini dilarang di Tiongkok setelah Revolusi Komunis Tiongkok tahun 1949, dan Li akhirnya diburu hingga tewas, menjadi korban penganiayaan politik tahun 1967 selama puncak Revolusi Kebudayaan.[5]
