Lanny Gumulya Kartadinata (13 November 1944 - 29 Februari 2024) adalah atlet loncat indah dan pengusaha.

Kehidupan awal

Lanny lahir di Surakarta pada tanggal 13 November 1944 dengan nama Goei Giok Lan. Sejak kecil, ia sudah tertarik dengan olahraga. Dari tahun 1953 - 1954, ia menekuni olahraga renang.[1] Di usianya yang ke-10, ia diperkenalkan dengan olahraga loncat indah ketika seorang peloncat indah asal Amerika Serikat datang ke Solo dan menunjukkan atraksinya.[2]

Ia mengenyam bangku SMP di Bandung. Selama masa SMPnya, ia belajar judo dari Battling Ong dan mampu mencapai tingkat ban cokelat.[1][3]

Karier

Pada tahun 1959, Lanny mulai menekuni olahraga loncat indah dengan bimbingan dari pelatih M.Jasin.[1] Selama mengikuti pelatihan, ia mendapatkan nama Gumulya dari Soekarno ketika berkunjung ke pemusatan latihan di Bandung.[2] Dalam ajang Pekan Olahraga Nasional 1961 di Bandung, ia mendapatkan medali emas pada lomba loncat indah untuk nomor papan 3 meter.[3] Berkat medali emas yang ia peroleh pada PON, ia menjalani pemusatan latihan nasional Asian Games di Filipina dan Jepang.[1]

Lanny ikut serta dalam pada Pesta Olahraga Asia 1962 pada cabang olahraga loncat indah dan berhasil memperoleh medali emas untuk papan 3 meter dan menara 10 meter. Selanjutnya, ia juga menjadi peserta GANEFO dan berhasil memperoleh medali emas untuk papan 3 meter dan perunggu untuk menara 10 meter. Ia juga sempat direncanakan untuk ikut serta dalam Olimpiade Musim Panas 1964 di Tokyo. Namun rencana tersebut gagal karena kontingen Indonesia menarik diri dari perhelatan olimpiade.[1]

Masa pensiun

Pada tahun 1964, Lanny memutuskan untuk pensiun dari dunia olahraga. Selanjutnya, ia melanjutkan kuliahnya di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia pada tahun 1966. Ia menikah dengan Charlie Kartadinata pada tahun 1966.[1] Dari pernikahannya, ia dikaruniai enam orang anak.[4] Dia sempat menekuni bisnis makanan ketika sedang tinggal di Malaga dengan mendirikan restoran yang bernama "Mandarin". Kemudian, ia kembali ke Indonesia dan terjun dalam bisnis percetakan di Palmerah.[3] Pada tahun 1981, ia menolak tawaran KONI untuk menjadi pelatih.[5]

Lanny membawa obor pada pembukaan Pesta Olahraga Asia 2018 di Stadion Utama Gelora Bung Karno.[1] Pada saat merayakan ulang tahunnya yang ke-78, Melanie Kartadinata merilis buku biografi Lanny Gumulya sebagai kado ulang tahunnya.[6]

Lanny meninggal dunia pada tanggal 29 Februari 2024 dan jenazahnya dikremasi pada 4 Maret.[1][6]
