Laleh Pourkarim (lahir di Bandar-e Anzali, Iran, 10 Juni 1982) adalah pencipta lagu, produser rekaman, gitaris, pianis, aktris, dan manajer perusahaan rekaman asal Swedia. Ia dikenal melalui beberapa lagunya antara lain dengan judul "Live Tomorrow" dan "Some Die Young". Laleh mengawali kariernya sebagai penyanyi pada tahun 2005 atau tidak berselang lama setelah mencoba terjun ke dunia seni peran. Album debutnya diterima dengan baik di Swedia dan menjadi salah satu album terlaris pada tahun tersebut. Laleh saat ini juga dikenal sebagai salah satu produser dan pencipta lagu di Hollywood. Beberapa penyanyi yang pernah bekerja sama dengannya adalah Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding, dan Shawn Mendes.[2]

Laleh sempat bermain sebagai Yasmine dalam film yang cukup terkenal berjudul "Jalla Jalla" arahan Josef Fares. Meski ia mendapatkan banyak pujian atas perannya tersebut, ia tidak tertarik untuk melanjutkan kariernya di dunia film.[3]

Kehidupan awal

Laleh terlahir dari pasangan imigran asal Iran. Ia lahir di kota pelabuhan Bandar-e Anzali di bagian utara Iran. Ibunya adalah seorang ahli matematika dan ayahnya adalah etnolog,[4] penyair, penulis, dan jurnalis yang karena keterlibatannya dalam politik mengharuskan mereka sekeluarga untuk mengungsi dari Iran. Ibunya, Atef, merupakan pengungsi Georgia via Azerbaijan yang meneruskan studi di Universitas Teheran. Ayahnya, Houshang Pourkarim (meninggal 1994) adalah salah satu oposisi rezim pemerintahan Islam di Teheran.

Laleh sekeluarga sempat mengungsi ke Azerbaijan, kemudian ke Minsk, bekas Uni Soviet.[4] Ia juga sempat mengungsi di kamp pengungsian di Tidaholm. Pada usia 9 tahun, ia sampai di Swedia dan Gothenburg via Berlin Timur.

Laleh selama beberapa kali kehilangan orang-orang yang dicintainya, termasuk kedua orangtua dan kakak laki-lakinya. Saat ia kecil, ia kehilangan kakak laki-lakinya karena sakit kelainan jantung. Sang kakak tidak sempat mendapatkan perawatan yang memadai akibat dari imbas peperangan antara Iran dan Iraq. Pada usia 12 tahun, Laleh kehilangan ayahnya. Dalam perjalanan menuju pengungsian, ayahnya mencoba menolong seorang wanita yang tenggelam. Namun, sayang, Houshang Pourkarim tidak mampu menyelamatkan diri.[5] Peristiwa ini diakui oleh Laleh sebagai pengalaman yang traumatis dalam hidupnya. Pada 2013, ibunya meninggal dunia saat ia usai merilis album "Colors".
