Seekor kucing hitam.

Kucing hitam adalah seekor kucing domestik yang memiliki bulu berwarna hitam polos. Organisasi pendaftaran kucing CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association) telah mengakui 22 ras kucing yang boleh memiliki warna bulu hitam.

Kucing hitam bukanlah ras kucing. Contoh ras kucing yang hanya memiliki warna hitam adalah ras kucing Bombay. Bombay dikenal sebagai kucing yang memiliki warna hitam yang mengkilap dan indah.[1]

Pigmentasi warna hitam sedikit lebih umum pada kucing jantan daripada kucing betina. Karena tingginya kandungan pigmen melamin pada kucing hitam, akibatnya mereka memiliki warna mata (iris) kuning (emas).[2]
