Korvet kelas Bung Karno merupakan kelas korvet yang bertugas di TNI Angkatan Laut. Kelas ini dibangun oleh galangan kapal PT Karimun Anugrah Sejati di Batam, Kepulauan Riau.

Desain

Kapal utama Bung Karno memiliki panjang 73 m (240 kaki), lebar 12 m (39 kaki), dan perpindahan 650 ton (640 ton panjang).[1] Korvet ini ditenagai oleh dua mesin diesel yang menghasilkan 4.000 kW (5.400 shp). Kapal ini memiliki kecepatan tertinggi 24 knot (44 km/jam) dan kecepatan jelajah 20 knot (37 km/jam). Bung Karno mempunyai awak kapal sebanyak 55 personel.[2]

Kapal tersebut rencananya akan dipersenjatai dengan satu menara OTO Marlin 40 milik Leonardo, dua autocannon 20 mm dan rudal permukaan-ke-udara MBDA SIMBAD.[1] Korvet ini rencananya akan dilengkapi dengan torpedo dan sonar di masa depan.[3] Bung Karno juga mampu membawa Eurocopter AS565 Panther[4] helikopter dan memiliki dek penerbangan yang mirip dengan korvet kelas Bung Tomo.[5]

Dalam perannya sebagai kapal pesiar kepresidenan, kapal ini direncanakan memiliki akomodasi VVIP antipeluru dan mampu berfungsi sebagai kapal komando pada saat darurat.[4][6]

Sejarah

Bung Karno dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kapal kepresidenan baru yang juga mampu digunakan sebagai kapal perang di masa perang. Kapal kepresidenan sebelumnya, KRI Barakuda (633), merupakan kapal patroli yang dibangun oleh Lürssen dan diluncurkan pada tahun 1995. Setelah 27 tahun mengabdi sebagai kapal kepresidenan, TNI AL merasa perlu diganti.[7] Kontrak 300 miliar rupiah[5] untuk kapal/korvet kepresidenan yang baru diberikan kepada galangan kapal PT Karimun Anugrah Sejati di Batam, Kepulauan Riau pada tanggal 25 Mei 2022. Pemotongan baja dan peletakan lunas kapal kepresidenan tersebut dilakukan pada tanggal 9 Juni 2022. Pada tanggal 20 Juni, kapal tersebut telah resmi dinamakan sebagai Bung Karno.[1] Kapal diluncurkan pada 19 April 2023 dan ditugaskan pada 1 Juni 2023.[8]

Saat peresmian Bung Karno, Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut Laksamana Muhammad Ali menyatakan, rencananya akan dibangun kapal saudara Bung Karno. Kapal kedua yang tidak disebutkan namanya akan memiliki persenjataan yang lebih baik dari Bung Karno.[9] Kontrak kapal kedua ditandatangani pada 25 Januari 2024 di galangan kapal PT Karimun Anugrah Sejati. Pada hari yang sama juga dilaksanakan upacara pemotongan baja dan peletakan lunas.[10]
