Kokas adalah sebuah distrik di Kabupaten Fakfak, Papua Barat, Indonesia. Jarak Kokas dari pusat pemerintahan kabupaten hanya sekitar 50 km namun harus ditempuh dengan jalan darat dan air. Jalan darat untuk menghubungkan Fakfak dengan pusat Distrik Kokas sudah dirintis sejak 1970-an namun belum selesai.

Kokas menyimpan banyak peninggalan masa lalu dengan rentang waktu dari masa prasejarah hingga sejarah modern Indonesia. Di terdapat masjid tertua di Kabupaten Fakfak yaitu Masjid Tua Patimburak yang terletak di kampung Patimburak yang berusia lebih dari 200 tahun. Wilayah ini pernah menjadi wilayah Kesultanan Tidore.[1]

Distrik Kokas seperti wilayah sekitarnya memiliki objek arkeologi ini dikenal sebagai Situs Purbakala Kokas atau oleh masyarakat setempat biasa disebut Tapurarang. Cap-cap tangan dan lukisan objek-objek lainnya ini memiliki kemiripan dengan beberapa lukisan dinding seperti di Sangkulirang, Kutai Timur, Kalimantan Timur, atau di Gua Leangleang. Selain itu terdapat pula gua persembunyian tentara Jepang, peninggalan masa Perang Pasifik (1941-1945).[2]

Pembagian administratif

Terdapat satu kelurahan di distrik ini, yaitu Kelurahan Kokas Kota.

Terdapat juga 14 kampung di distrik ini.[3]
