Kereta inspeksi Sriwijaya (bukan KA Sriwijaya), atau lebih dikenal sebagai "KD1" saja, adalah salah satu unit kereta rel diesel milik PT KAI yang digunakan untuk inspeksi KAI maupun VIP/VVIP di Sumatera Selatan, terutama di Divre III Palembang, ataupun disewakan kepada pihak yang ingin mencarter kereta api ini. Rangkaian kereta ini hanya terdiri dari dua kabin masinis yang digabungkan dalam satu kereta.[1] Berbeda dengan dua KAIS yang sudah ada sebelumnya (Wijayakusuma dan Railone) yang menggunakan striping oranye-biru, KRD ini dicat putih dengan striping emas di tengahnya.

Sejarah

Sebelum dimodifikasi menjadi kereta inspeksi, kereta ini juga merupakan salah satu armada kereta rel diesel (KRD) yang bernomor KD3-82235, dan digunakan untuk angkutan komuter rute Bogor-Sukabumi. Pada tahun 1997, KRD ini dimodifikasi di Balai Yasa Manggarai untuk dijadikan kereta inspeksi. Kereta api ini awalnya dinamai "KAIS Pasopati" dengan nomor KD1-82202 atau SI 3 82 02.[2]

Sepanjang masa operasionalnya di Pulau Jawa, KAIS Pasopati bersamaan dengan KAIS Railone dialokasikan di Depo Lokomotif Bandung, akan tetapi sejak tahun 2004-2005, KAIS Pasopati ini dikirim ke Sumatera Selatan dan dimutasi ke Depo Lokomotif Kertapati Palembang, dan berganti nama menjadi KAIS Sriwijaya, serta menjadi KAIS pertama dan satu-satunya di Pulau Sumatra sampai kedatangan KAIS Kaldera Toba di Divre I Medan.

Interior Kereta Inspeksi Sriwijaya juga dilengkapi dengan kabin dan sofa pada bagian depan, ruang tengah dengan multimedia dan meja panjang untuk rapat/makan.

Logo dan corak

Sejak awal KAIS ini selalu bercat putih. Pada tahun 1995, KAIS Sriwijaya menggunakan corak abu-abu dengan striping biru-biru tua khas corak kereta eksekutif (K1) pada saat itu. Corak ini cukup bertahan lama hingga tahun 2009, sampai akhirnya KAIS ini berganti menggunakan corak hijau dengan striping merah.[3] Sejak tahun 2013, KAIS ini menggunakan corak baru yang sama seperti KAIS Wijayakusuma pada masanya, tetapi dengan garis warna emas di bagian tengahnya. Sejak saat itu hingga sekarang, KAIS ini tidak mengalami perubahan corak.
