Kehilangan jabatan rohaniwan


Dalam hukum kanon Gereja Katolik, kehilangan jabatan rohaniwan (umumnya disebut sebagai laikisasi) adalah pencabutan uskup, imam atau deakon dari status seorang anggota rohaniwan. Dalam Gereja Katolik, uskup, imam atau deakon yang dilepaskan dari jabatan rohaniwan dikenakan atas dakwaan kejahatan berat, bidah, atau hal serupa. Pencabutan dari jabatan rohaniwan terkadang diberlakukan sebagai hukuman (bahasa Latin: ad poenam),[1] atau diberlakukan sebagai pilihan (bahasa Latin: pro gratia) atas permintaan imam sendiri.[2] Seorang rohaniwan Katolik dapat secara sukarela meminta pencabutan dari jabatan rohaniwan untuk alasan pribadi.[3] Pada 1990an, permintaan sukarela sejauh ini menjadi alasan paling umum untuk menikah, karena rohaniwan ritus Latin diwajibkan untuk melakukan selibasi.[3] Hukum kanon yang diamandemenkan pada Maret 2019 mengijinkan pelepasan jabatan rohaniwan yang menjadi anggota komunitas relijius.[4][5] Kebijakan tersebut berlaku sejak 10 April 2019.[6]
