Kampung Keriam adalah sebuah desa di Daerah Tutong, Brunei Darussalam, sekitar 6 kilometer (3,7 mil) dari kota distrik Pekan Tutong. Jumlah penduduknya adalah 2.195 jiwa pada tahun 2016.[1] Ini adalah salah satu desa di Mukim Keriam, sebuah mukim di distrik tersebut.[2]

Etimologi

Desa ini diklaim didirikan oleh seorang pria Dusun Brunei bernama Rium yang bermigrasi bersama keluarganya di masa lalu dari Kampung Sungai Bera saat ini di Daerah Belait.[3][4] Desa ini sebelumnya dikenal dengan nama Karium atau Si Rium; akhirnya 'distandarkan' dalam bahasa Melayu menjadi ejaan saat ini "Keriam".[3][4]

Geografi

Desa ini berbatasan dengan Kampung Bukit Panggal di timur laut, Kampung Luagan Dudok di timur, Kampung Panchor Papan di barat daya, dan Kampung Tanah Burok serta Kampung Penanjong di barat laut.[5] Ini adalah salah satu pemukiman di sepanjang Jalan Tutong, jalan utama yang menghubungkan kota distrik Pekan Tutong dengan ibu kota Bandar Seri Begawan.[6]

Infrastruktur

Akses menuju desa ini melalui Jalan Tutong melalui Kampung Luagan Dudok dari timur dan Kampung Panchor Papan dari barat.

Pendidikan

Sekolah Dasar Keriam adalah sekolah dasar desa dan didirikan pada tahun 1938.[3] Sekolah ini juga berbagi lahan dengan Sekolah Agama Keriam, sekolah desa untuk tingkat dasar pendidikan agama Islam di negara ini.[3]

Kantor pemerintahan

Desa ini memiliki balai raya yang dibangun pada tahun 1954.[3]

Masjid

Masjid Kampung Keriam adalah masjid desa; selesai dibangun pada tahun 1991 dan dapat menampung 300 jamaah.[7]
