Kakap gajah, kakap bungkuk atau sawu (Lutjanus sebae) adalah sejenis kakap yang berasal dari Samudra Hindia dan Pasifik barat. Ikan ini merupakan penghuni Terumbu karang dan bebatuan, dimana ikan ini lebih memilih tinggal di daerah datar bersubstrat pasir atau kerikil. Ikan ini bisa ditemukan di kedalaman 5–180 meter (16–591 ft). Tubuh ikan ini bisa mencapai panjang 100 sentimeter ([convert: unit tak dikenal]), namun panjang tubuh umumnya hanya 50–60 sentimeter ([convert: unit tak dikenal]).[1] Ikan terberat yang pernah tercatat adalah 327 kilogram (721 pon). Ikan ini memiliki nilai komersial penting dan juga sudah dibudidayakan. Ikan ini juga banyak dicari sebagai ikan pancing serta dijual sebagai ikan hias.[2] Ikan yang masih muda biasanya berlindung di antara duri-duri bulu babi sampai cukup besar untuk menjelajah mencari makan.[3] Di Indonesia, ikan ini juga dikenal dengan nama Kakap sawo, Kakap jenaka, Kakap bungkuk, atau Tawe-Tawe. Sementara di Australia, ikan ini dikenal dengan nama Emperor red snapper (kakap merah kaisar) atau government bream.
