Jupriyadi

Jupriyadi, S.H., M.Hum. adalah seorang hakim yang terkenal akan perannya menjadi satu dari lima hakim yang menangani kasus kontroversial penistaan agama dengan terdakwa Basuki Tjahaja Purnama atau Ahok. Ahok divonis dua tahun penjara, hukuman yang lebih berat dari yang dituntut oleh Jaksa. Kini, Jupriyadi telah terpilih menjadi Hakim Agung

Pada tanggal 11 Mei 2017, dua hari setelah Ahok divonis, Jupriyadi, bersama dua hakim lain yang dalam kasus Ahok, Dwiarso Budi Santiarto, dan Abdul Rosyad, diumumkan mendapatkan promosi. Jupriyadi menjadi Ketua Pengadilan Negeri Bandung, Abdul Rosyad menjadi hakim tinggi di Pengadilan Tinggi Palu, dan Dwiarso Budi Santiarto mendapat promosi menjadi Hakim Tinggi di Pengadilan Tinggi Denpasar, Bali.[1]

Vonis atas Ahok ini mengundang keprihatian sejumlah organisasi dunia atas kondisi hak asasi manusia di Indonesia.[2] Amnesti Internasional menyatakan bahwa putusan itu bisa merusak reputasi Indonesia yang selama ini dikenal sebagai negara toleran. Dewan HAM PBB untuk Kawasan Asia menyatakan prihatin atas hukuman penjara terhadap dugaan penistaan agama Islam.Dewan HAM ini juga menyerukan kepada Indonesia untuk mengkaji ulang pasal penistaan agama yang ada dalam UU Hukum Pidana. Delegasi Uni Eropa (UE) untuk Indonesia menyerukan pada pemerintah dan rakyat Indonesia untuk tetap mempertahankan tradisi toleransi dan pluralisme yang selama ini dikagumi dunia.

Kementerian Luar Negeri Amerika menyatakan meskipun menghormati institusi demokrasi Indonesia, Amerika menentang undang-undang penistaan agama dimana pun karena membahayakan kebebasan fundamental termasuk kebebasan beragama dan mengemukakan pendapat.[3] Parlemen Belanda menyatakan hukuman terhadap mantan gubernur Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama sebagai "serangan langsung terhadap kebebasan" dan upaya pembebasan Ahok diangkat dalam debat bersama Menteri Luar Negeri Bert Koenders.[4]
