Joni Permana, S.Sn., M.Sn merupakan seorang Dosen, Penari, Koreographer dan juga seorang Perancang Busana dan aksesoris berkebangsaan Indonesia. Ia pernah didaulat menjadi Duta Seni Indonesia.

Biografi

Sejak usia belia Ia tertarik dengan Seni Tari, khususnya Tari Sunda. Untuk itu setelah menyelesaikan masa pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Pertamanya, Ia melanjutkan pendidikannya di SMK Negeri 10 Bandung dengan mengambil Program Keahlian Seni Tari. Kemudian setelah lulus melanjutkan pendidikannya di Jurusan Seni Tari Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia Bandung sampai dengan memperoleh gelar Sarjana dan setelah menyelesaikan gelar Magisternya di Institusi yang sama Ia berkarir sebagai Dosen di almamaternya tersebut.

Ia juga aktif sebagai Perancang Busana. Karya-karyanya sering kali terinspirasi dari tradisi dan budaya di Indonesia. Ia pernah merancang Kostum Nasional untuk ajang Putri Indonesia pada tahun 2018 dan berhasil sebagai juara Kostum Nasional Terbaik Putri Indonesia 2018. Selain itu, ia pernah memamerkan karya-karyanya pada Exhibition Wonderful Indonesia di Berlin dan turut berpartisipasi dalam International Fashion and Art di New York. Dalam ajang bergengsi tersebut, ia memperkenalkan budaya Indonesia dengan merancang busana dari cerita-cerita yang ada di masyarakat Jawa Barat, sekaligus budaya Indonesia lainnya. Pada tahun 2019, Joni kembali mengharumkan nama Indonesia lewat busana rancangannya yang dipamerkan pada ajang New York Fashion Week 2019. Selain itu, ia merupakan pendiri JP Art.[1]

Pada tanggal 3 Juli 2022 tepatnya dua hari sebelum menginjak usianya yang ke-29, Joni Permana meninggal dunia di Bandung karena sakit yang Ia derita sejak lama.[2]
