John Willard Milnor (lahir 20 Februari 1931) adalah seorang matematikawan Amerika yang dikenal atas hasil kerjanya dalam topologi diferensial, teori K dan sistem dinamik.

Penghargaan

Tahun 1962 ia mendapat penghargaan Medali Fields atas hasil kerjanya dalam bidang topologi diferensial. Kemudian ia juga memenangkan National Medal of Science pada tahun 1967, Penghargaan Steele tahun 1982 atas kontribusinya dalam penelitian, Penghargaan Wolf dalam bidang matematika tahun 1989, Penghargaan Steel atas eksposisi matematika tahun 2004 dan Penghargaan Steele atas prestasi seumur hidup tahun 2011. Pada tahun 2011, ia mendapat Penghargaan Abel,[1] untuk mengawali penemuan dalam bidang topografi, geometri dan aljabar.[2]
