Johan Yaques Alex Nanlohy atau yang lebih dikenal dengan nama Johan Untung (lahir 29 September 1955) adalah seorang penyanyi berkebangsaan Indonesia. Namanya dikenal setelah sering menyanyikan lagu-lagu penyanyi dunia secara cover version. Johan mengawali kariernya dengan belajar kepada musisi A. Riyanto bersama Jamal Mirdad, Atiek CB, Ade Putra, Maharani Kahar, dan lain-lain.[1]

Latar belakang

Johan Untung lahir dan besar di Surabaya. Sebelum belajar kepada musisi dan pencipta lagu A. Riyanto, Johan untuk adalah penyanyi dari kafe ke kafe di kota itu. Tahun 1975, Johan Untung membentuk band Arga (Arek-arek Gatot Subroto) bersama teman-temannya sebagai pemain drums. Mereka sempat merekam lagu album, Mama Asyik yang kemudian digubah kembali dan dijadikan side Be album Mus Mulyadi. Tahun 1979, Johan tampil bernyanyi di TVRI Stasiun Surabaya menyanyikan lagu-lagu karya Ebiet G. Ade dengan pendekatan suara mirip aslinya. Kemampuannya memiripkan suara penyanyi lain akhir menarik minat seorang produser yang kemudian merekam suara Johan untuk besama kelompok vokal trio Ardig dalam album Balada Narapidana ciptaan Saleh Al Djufri. Sejak saat itu, nama Johan mulai diperhitungkan dan sering tampil di layar televisi.[2][3]

Setahun setelah sering kemunculannya di televisi Surabaya, seorang produser melirik Johan Untung dan mengajaknya ke Jakarta, menitipkan kepada A. Riyanto selama satu tahun. Disitulah nama Johan Yaques Alex Nanlohy, oleh A. Riyanto diganti dengan Johan Untung, dengan harapan dapat menggapai sebagai penyanyi populer. Lewat tangan A Riyanto, Johan memulai membuka debut album pop Indonesia Nusantara 3 ciptaan A. Riyanto tahun (1981). Album ini dan album-album selanjutnya, ternyata kurang mendapat sambutan dari masyarakat pencinta musik Indonesia, sehingga akhirnya dia memutuskan bergabung dengan Ireng Maulana untuk menjadi vokalis di kafe-kafe di Jakarta. Tahun 1990-an dia juga bergabung dengan Flashback Band pimpinan Nunus Utomo, mengisi acara Tembang Kenangan di stasiun televisi Indosiar. Johan tak jarang terlibat dalam penggarapan beberapa album penyanyi yang sudah terkenal, baik sebagai penyanyi latar maupun berduet, antara lain Hetty Koes Endang, Andi Meriam Matalatta, Rafika Duri, dan lain-lain. Dan anehnya, di posisi terakhir ini, album-album yang didukung oleh Johan untung justru laris manis di pasaran.[4][5][6]
