Jerry Baldwin

Gerald (Jerry) Baldwin, bersama Gordon Bowker dan Zev Siegl, adalah pendiri Starbucks di Seattle pada tahun 1971.[1]

Baldwin mempelajari perdagangan kopi dari Alfred Peet, yang kedai Peet's Coffee & Tea-nya menjadi inspirasi Starbucks. Starbucks membeli biji kopi panggang dari Peet's selama tahun pertama operasinya. Pada tahun 1984, Peet's dijual; Baldwin memimpin sekelompok investor yang membeli perusahaan tersebut. Tahun 1987, ia menjual sahamnya di Starbucks. Baldwin menjabat sebagai Ketua Peet's sampai 2001 ketika Peet's menjadi perusahaan publik; ia saat ini menjabat sebagai Direktur Peet's.[2][3]

Baldwin juga pernah menjabat sebagai direktur dan ketua pendiri Technical Standards Committee of the Specialty Coffee Association of America, presiden Association Scientifique International du Cafe (ASIC), dan ketua Coffee Quality Institute. Ia mendapat penghargaan Lifetime Achievement Award dari Specialty Coffee Association of America.[4] Baldwin adalah direktur TechnoServe, sebuah LSM nirlaba yang beroperasi di Amerika Latin dan Afrika.[5]

Pada tahun 2001, ia mendirikan Baldwin Wines, perkebunan sekaligus produsen Zinfandel di Sonoma Valley, California.[4]
