Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert (/dæləmˈbɛər/;^[1] bahasa Prancis: [ʒɑ̃ batist lə ʁɔ̃ dalɑ̃bɛːʁ]; 16 November 1717 – 29 Oktober 1783) adalah seorang matematikawan, mekanikawan, fisikawan, filsuf dan teoretikus musik asal Prancis. Sampai 1759, bersama dengan Denis Diderot, ia menjadi penyunting Encyclopédie.^[2] Rumus D'Alembert untuk memberikan jawaban untuk persamaan gelombang diambil dari namanya.^[3][4][5] Persamaan gelombang terkadang disebut sebagai persamaan d'Alembert, dan teorema aljabar fundamental diambil dari nama d'Alembert dalam bahasa Prancis.
