Jean-Claude Pressac

Jean-Claude Pressac (3 Maret 1944 – 23 Juli 2003)[1] adalah seorang apoteker Prancis, yang menjadi otoritas penerbitan kamar gas pembunuh di kamp konsentrasi Auschwitz yang digunakan selama Holocaust dalam Perang Dunia II. Dia adalah penulis buku tahun 1989 Auschwitz. Technique and operation of the gas chambers dan publikasi lain mengenai subjek tersebut, yang menunjukkan kemungkinan teknis pembunuhan massal dengan kamar gas selama Holocaust, sehingga membantah banyak kebohongan yang dipromosikan oleh para penyangkal Holocaust.[2]

Pressac awalnya adalah seorang penyangkal Holocaust yang, bersama Robert Faurisson, berusaha menyangkal apa yang dianggapnya sebagai penggambaran kamp konsentrasi sebagai kamp pemusnahan yang secara historis tidak akurat. Namun, saat mengunjungi Auschwitz pada tahun 1979 dan 1980, Pressac dapat melihat secara langsung arsip ekstensif dokumen asli Jerman berkat kesopanan staf museum dan administrasi yang tidak menyadari tujuan sebenarnya dari penelitiannya,[butuh rujukan] dan dengan cepat menyadari bahwa Faurisson dan para penyangkal Holocaust lainnya salah.
