Jalur kereta api Purwokerto–Wonosobo beserta lintas cabang Banjarsari–Purbalingga adalah jalur kereta api yang pernah menghubungkan Stasiun Purwokerto dengan Stasiun Wonosobo. Jalur ini panjangnya 88 km dan termasuk dalam Wilayah Aset V Purwokerto. Jalur ini dahulu merupakan lintas utama dari Serajoedal Stoomtram Maatschappij (SDS) dan dalam perkembangannya, jalurnya disambung dengan jalur SS Prupuk–Kroya.

Sejarah

Karena kebutuhan angkut wilayah Bumi Banyumas sangat besar maka diperlukan suatu jalur kereta api yang dapat menjangkau kawasan-kawasan penting di Bumi Banyumas, seperti Banjarnegara dan Purbalingga.^[1] Oleh karenanya, kereta api menjadi jawaban bagi setiap persoalan pengangkutan barang di Bumi Banyumas. Pelayanan kereta api ini mengharuskan adanya suatu perusahaan; perusahaan itu kelak diberi nama Serajoedal Stoomtram Maatschappij (SDS). SDS diberi izin berdasarkan besluit tertanggal 24 April 1894 yang disahkan oleh Pemerintah Kolonial Hindia Belanda. Perusahaan ini segera melaksanakan konsesi pembangunan jalur kereta api dari Maos menuju Purwokerto Timur bersambung ke Banjarnegara.^[2]

Dengan bermodal awal 1.500.000 gulden, jalur kereta api pertama SDS, Maos–Purwokerto Timur, akhirnya selesai pada tanggal 16 Juli 1896. Selanjutnya jalur ini diperpanjang hingga Sokaraja pada tanggal 5 Desember 1896.^[3]

Tujuan dari dibentuknya perusahaan jasa angkutan kereta api ini adalah mengintegrasikan perusahaan-perusahaan gula. Pabrik-pabrik gula yang terintegrasi antara lain Pabrik Gula Purwokerto, Pabrik Gula Kalibagor, Pabrik Gula Kalimanah, Pabrik Gula Bojong, dan Pabrik Gula Klampok. SDS juga mengepakkan sayap bisnisnya ke pengangkutan hasil bumi seperti teh, kayu manis, dan tembakau, karena di wilayah tersebut memang ditanami tanaman tersebut.

Dalam verslag yang dibuat oleh SDS, jalur kereta apinya dibuka dalam beberapa tahap, termasuk dua percabangan menuju Kandis dari Purwareja dan percabangan menuju Purbalingga dari Banjarsari.^[4]

Pada tanggal 1 Juli 1916, segmen jalur SS Patuguran–Kroya Staatsspoorwegen (SS) telah selesai dibangun. Agar memungkinkan pengguna jasa SS berpindah moda untuk ke Wonosobo, dibangunlah jalur kereta api transit dari Purwokerto menuju Purwokerto Timur.^[5]

Jalur-jalur ini tetap beroperasi pasca-kemerdekaan, kecuali jalur menuju Kandis. Jalur ini dinonaktifkan pada tahun 1978 untuk lintas Stasiun Singomerto - Stasiun Wonosobo karena kalah bersaing dengan mobil pribadi dan angkutan umum. Untuk lintas ini beserta percabangan menuju Purbalingga tetap beroperasi hingga tahun 1978. Walaupun sudah tidak melayani penumpang, namun untuk lintas Stasiun Purwokerto Timur - Stasiun Singomerto tetap beroperasi untuk kebutuhan pembangunan PLTA Mrica hingga ditutup pada 1983^[6] sebelum akhirnya lintas Stasiun Purwokerto - Stasiun Purwokerto Timur dinonaktifkan pada pertengahan tahun 2000-an.

Reaktivasi

Berdasarkan Lampiran Perpres No. 79 tahun 2019, jalur kereta api ini direncanakan akan diaktifkan kembali guna mendukung pembangunan infrastruktur dalam rangka meningkatkan konektivitas antar kawasan melalui pengembangan angkutan massa yang mudah dan cepat.^[7]

Sebelumnya, pada bulan April 2018 PT KAI telah melakukan survei dan pendataan stasiun di jalur ini. Tidak ada progres reaktivasi untuk jalur ini.^[8] Pada tanggal 23 November 2018, PT KAI Daop V Purwokerto resmi meluncurkan angkutan terusan berupa minibus dinas yang akan melayani rute Purwokerto–Wonosobo dan Purwokerto–Purbalingga.^[9]

Pada bulan Oktober 2019, PT KAI juga telah melakukan survei kembali tanah reaktivasi dan melakukan pemasangan patok DJKA berupa CP dan BM dari Purwokerto sampai Wonosobo.
