Inuit

Inuit ialah penduduk asli Amerika yang tinggal di tempat-tempat yang dingin di Kanada Utara dan Alaska.^[1] Orang Inuit disebut dengan Inuk yang memiliki arti manusia.^[2] Terkadang mereka disebut Eskimo. Penduduk asli Greenland memiliki pertalian darah dengan bangsa Inuit. Mereka sangat mirip dengan Orang Asia Timur dan hal ini Terbukti bahwa Orang Asia sejak dahulu kala telah berimigrasi ke Benua Amerika Ini.

Bangsa Inuit biasa berburu anjing laut dan narwhal.^[3] Mereka juga berdagang bulu binatang dengan bangsa Eropa. Mereka tinggal di rumah-rumah yang terbuat dari salju bernama igloo.

Bahasa bangsa Inuit ialah Inuktitut, dan merupakan bahasa resmi Nunavut dan Northwest Territories di Kanada.
