Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Manado adalah satu-satunya Perguruan Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri di Kota Manado, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia. IAIN Manado didirikan berdasarkan pada Surat Keputusan Presiden Nomor 147 Tanggal 17 Oktober 2014 yang merupakan perubahan bentuk dari Sekolah Tinggi Islam Negeri (STAIN) Manado.Setelah berjalan kurang lebih 18 tahun, tepat pada bulan Oktober tahun 2014 setelah melewati berbagai proses seleksi Kementerian Agama dan Menpan, akhirnya STAIN Manado di sahkan menjadi IAIN Manado.
Sejarah
Kelahiran STAIN Manado dilegalisasi dengan sebuah kekuatan hukum KEP. MENAG NO. 18 Tahun 1988 tanggal 5 Juli 1998. Sebelumnya perguruan tinggi ini masih berupa sebuah fakultas Syariah IAIN Alauddin di Manado yang dipimpin oleh Dekan Drs. M. Idris Ya’kub, Setelah itu kepemimpinan perguruan tinggi ini dipimpin oleh Drs. Ridwan Sarib. Pada tanggal 30 Juni 1997, berdasarkan KEPRES. No 11 Tahun 1997, Fakultas Syariah IAIN Alauddin kemudian dikembangkan menjadi Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Manado (STAIN). Berbagai program strategi yang dikembangkan oleh STAIN Manado terealisasi atas dasar argumen dan realita yaitu:
STAIN Manado merupakan satu-satunya perguruan Tinggi Islam yang terdapat di Sulawesi Utara.
Berdirinya STAIN Manado adalah harapan dan amanah dalam menyongsong percaturan pendidikan global.
Setelah berjalan kurang lebih 18 tahun, tepat pada bulan Oktober tahun 2014 setelah melewati berbagai proses seleksi Kementerian Agama dan Menpan, akhirnya STAIN Manado di sahkan menjadi IAIN Manado. berselang empat bulan setelah SK IAIN Manado tepatnya tanggal 4 maret dilantiklah Prof. Dr. Rukmina Gonibala, M.Si sebagai Rektor Pertama IAIN Manado periode 2015 s.d 2019.
