Infeksi urogenitalia

Infeksi urogenetalia dimulai dari infeksi saluran kemih (ISK)yang kemudian menjalar ke organ-organ genetalia bahkan sampai ke ginjal. Infeksi pada organ padat seperti testis, epididimis, prostat, ginjal biasanya lebih berat daripada organ berongga seperti buli-buli, ureter, maupun uretra. Terapi yang akan diberikan pada infeksi biasanya adalah untuk menghentikan kuman atau toksik yang dihasilkan oleh kuman pada sirkulasi sistemik atau untuk merusak organ.[1]

Infeksi Saluran kemih

Infeksi Saluran kemih merupakan respon inflamasi dari urotelium terhadap infeksi bakteri biasanya berhubungan dengan bakteriuria dan piuria.[2]Infeksi saluran kemih umumnya terjadi pada wanita karena kondisi anatomis panjang uretra wanita yang hanya sekitar 4 cm. Adapun masuknya mikrorganisme ke saluran kemih adalah: (1) Ascending, yaitu kuman yang berasal dari flora normal usus, vagina, maupun penis ataupun anus masuk melalui uretra - prostat - vas deverens - testis - buli-buli - ureter bahkan hingga ke ginjal (2) Hematogen, Kejadiannya jarang biasanya merupakan infeksi sekunder dari Staphylococcus aureus yang beredar di darah atau dari kandida yang berada di sirkulasi. (3) Limfogen, merupakan perkembangan dari bakteri yang ada di organ limfatik sekitar seperti terjadinya infeksi usus yang berat atau abses retroperitoneal (4) Langsung dari organ sekitar yang sebelumnya terkena infeksi.[1][3]

Jika jumlah urin cukup atau tidak ada hambatan aliran urin, maka mikroorganisme jarang akan berkembang biak hingga menjadi patogen bagi tubuh. Oleh karena itu, penting sekali memperbanyak minum air untuk melancarkan pengeluaran urin agar tidak ada stagnansi.[1]

Adapun tanda dan gejala adalah tergantung dari organ yang terinfeksi.[1]
