Hesse adalah salah satu negara bagian di Jerman. Pusat pemerintahan berada di Wiesbaden. Luas wilayah negara bagian ini adalah 21.114,72 km² dengan jumlah penduduk 6.069.000 jiwa (Maret 2008). Saat ini dipimpin oleh Volker Bouffier dari CDU (sejak 31 Agustus 2010).

Di Hesse terletak Frankfurt am Main, kota yang menjadi pusat keuangan Jerman. Kota-kota penting lainnya adalah Darmstadt, Kassel, Offenbach, Marburg, Hanau, Giessen, Fulda, dan Wetzlar.

Hesse dibagi menjadi 21 distrik (Landkreis) dan lima kota otonom (Kreisfreie Stadt):
